Self Introduction じこしょうかい

It’s been a while since my last post.

As the title says, here is some basic conversation about self introduction

JIKOSHOUKAI (self introduction) じこしょうかい

Hana: Hajimemashite. Hana desu. Mareshia kara kimashita. Doozo yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Shin: Hajimemashite. Shin desu. Kankokujin desu. Doozo yoroshiku.

The phrase douzo yoroshiku can be vary. The shorter it became the less formal it sounds.

どうぞ よろしく おねがいします(douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu)

よろしくおねがいします (yoroshiku onegaishimasu)

Be careful of using it to older/higher status person than you. In case if you are a senior talking to a junior, you can be less formal.

Also it is very common to introduce based on your organization that you belong to.

Example: I am Fujisaki Yuusuke of Sket-dan/Fujisaki Yuusuke no Suketto-dan.

AIZUCHI (response) あいずち

Have you heard these phrases sou desuka (そうですかand desune (ですね) ?

That are responses during conversation with your partner.

For desune (ですね) it is more like conforming the information.

シン:おなまえ は?(o namae wa?)

ハナ: ハナです。(Hana desu)

シン:ハナさんですね。(Hana-san desune)

For sou desuka (そうですか)you just figure out something; literally “is that so?”

シン:なん ねんせい ですか?(nan nensei desuka?)

ハナ:に ねんせい です。(ni nensei desu)

シン:そうですか。sou desuka)

Thank you.
